The modern structure, completely renovated in 2004, is within walking distance from the town center, where visitors can take the ferry for the Borromeo Islands: Isola Bella, Isola Madre and Isola Pescatori; the railway station is at close distance as well.
Opposite to the hotel is the park of Villa Fedora, from which the composer Umberto Giordano took inspiration for his lyric opera Fedora.
