Hotel information

Typical farmhouse set in the San Rossore Nature reserve, where it's possible to sight deer, fox, badger and wild boar, birds of prey, egrets and herons whilst walking, cycling or horse riding. Only 5 kms from the Leaning tower of Pisa and 10 kms from the coast. Made up of 8 en suite bedrooms. Quite peaceful surroundings with views over the private park, stables and swimming pool to the north and over the farmyard with its various animals to the south.
The charm of ancient times you can breath when entering the rooms seems to defy time and contributes to making your stay a wonderful one. Ceilings with wooden beams and original hand made bricks, terra cotta floors, period furniture from the beginning of the century, the uncontaminated nature that surrounds the farm, the wonderful chant of birds at daybreak and the owl by night, the sea breeze and home grown produce with local specialities at dinner all make this place an ideal spot for spending romantic week ends and unforgettable family holidays.

Room information

The farm has 8 bedrooms on the first floor with views over the park and Apuane mountains to the north and over the farm-yard and San Rossore nature reserve to the south. All the rooms have names of barns:- Hay-loft, Wood-store etc. There are 6 double triple and a single rooms all with en-suite bathrooms, and family-suite consisting of 2 large bedrooms with a bathroom between them. The bedrooms have original wooden rafters and terracotta floor tiles, liberty-style furniture but modern bathrooms! Protective netting at the windows ensures peaceful nights, thick walls and an electric fan keep the rooms cool in summer and central heating and cosy quilts give winter warmth.

Food & beverage

Meals are served in the large vaulted restaurant that was once a stable. The ceiling is original 17th century brick as are the rafters in the bar area where there is also an old terra cotta wood-burning stove for cosy winter evenings
The kitchen offers freshly-made dishes using seasonal farm and local products. Specialities are:-
Tuscan vegetable soups served on garlic bread, Pappardelle (wide strips of pasta) with wild-boar sauce

Area information

Table tennis, swings and see-saw in the grounds. Moutain bikes for hire for excursions into San Rossore estate (4km)or down to the sea (10km). Farm animals- hens, geese, rabbits, ducks as well as two cats and a Labrador called Emma. In the farm-yard to the rear, also exposition of old carts Parlour games, television and reference library indoors.

Travel information

From the motorway A11 A12, exit Pisa Nord, turn left onto Aurelia SS1 road towards Pisa. 300 metres after the first traffic lights at Migliarino turn right over train crossing, straight on for 800 metres to the farm on the right.

From the superstrada SGC-PI-FI-LI and Pisa airport, exit onto SS1 Aurelia road, first after airport, in a northerly direction towards Pisa, straight on to Madonna dell’Acqua, about 8 Km, turn left under motorway flyover across train crossino, farm is 500 metres further on on left
