Sant'Alberto was opened to the public in 1995 by its owner, Antonella. Built before 900, the building has since been restored with great care in order to maintain its original Tuscan "farmhouse" state: high wooden and brick ceilings with visible wooden beams, spacious rooms and handmade brick flooring.

The building consists of 4 spacious apartments: 2 of them on the first floor (Azzurro and Girasoli), the others located on the ground floor with direct access in the garden: Smeraldo suitable for wheelchairs and Acqua. All the apartments have been elegantly furnished using the original furniture of the farmhouse and other small pieces of antique furniture. They all have a fireplace, well-equipped kitchenette and a central heating. Each bedroom has an independent entrance so they can be rented as double room with bathroom.

There is also a grass area outside equipped with garden furniture, children's toys, a 7.5 X 15 swimming pool and a covered wooden car park. Guests can make use of the barbecue and wooden gazebo which surrounds the pool, offering the perfect opportunity to dine outdoors.

Area information

The Land - The Orcia Valley consists of a depression of hills, which the Orcia river runs across. The landscape of the Orcia Valley is an expression of the enchanting countryside. The shape of the land, characterized by small hills, immense farming land and pastoral areas is a delight to the eye and offers a great contrast from the desolate and rugged cretes to the softer and pleasant cultivated hills and slim, dark Tuscan cypresses, which are often planted in rows in the crest of the
horizon. In order to protect such an environment, the five district's which “govern” (Montalcino, Pienza, S. Quirico d’ Orcia, Castiglione d’ Orcia and Radicofani) have decided to set up the “Orcia Valley Park”, which ensures the conservation of the beautiful, artistic and cultural land. The link that has been established between agriculture and the environment is very strong, resulting in a production of prestigious wine, cheese, oil, honey, meat and home-made products, characteristic of the area. The brands currently available for pecorino cheese, wine, oil, honey and saffron are DOC, DOP and IGP

Travel information

From the north:
Take the A1 motorway, exit at Valdichiana and follow the signs for Montepulciano. On arrival, head for Pienza and then Gallina (SP18). Take the SS2-Via Cassia for 3 km (towards Rome) until the Campiglia d'Orcia exit. After 900m, travelling on a stretch of the same road, you will find Sant'Alberto.

From the south:
Take the A1 motorway and exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme. Follow the signs for Chianciano Terme. On arrival, follow SP40 until it joins the SS2. Take the SS2-Via Cassia (towards Siena) for 500m and exit at Campiglia d'Orcia. Head another 900m on the same road and you will find Sant'Alberto.

From Siena:
Take the SS2-Via Cassia for approximately 45-50km heading in the direction of Rome, exit at Campiglia d'Orcia. Continue for 900m and you will find Sant'Alberto.
