Alassio is the Muretto: the idea of the Muretto was conceived in the 50s. The Muretto has become an important walk for the beauty contest Miss Muretto and for St. Valentine's day. The local cuisine offers fragrances and tastes from the Ligurian sea as well as from its hills. A typically Mediterranean cuisine is tied to what is offered by nature: olives, herbs, pine kernels, fish, vegetables. The Ligurian wines are renowned and appreciated all over Europe.
