The Hotel has been obtained out of an ancient Country house in the Campagna Romana, and is located in a property which covers more than 150 hectares. It is surrounded by ancient post stations placed along the French Route, which was used by travellers of the Grand Tour since the 19th century.


The scenario is that of the Tuscia, also called High Latium or Southern Etruria. It is a land rich of History, Archaeology, Architecture, Nature, besides of being a transit passage for all those who were directed towards Rome. The property “I Due Laghi” (The Two Lakes), which is biologically certified, is extended between both the lakes of Bracciano and Martignano,



and is surrounded by the homonymous Regional National Park.
In the possession are bred goats, sheeps, cows of the Maremma and horses. Meat and cheese produced in the cheese-factory of the property, refurnish the restaurant “La Posta de' Cavalieri”, which is located in the Country Relais.

Moreover, the possession is supplied with a Horse-riding circle and organizes the Irish Drag Hunt: it is possible to ride with an instructor and to make promenades with a guide. It's compulsory to ride with your own boots, jodhpurs, helmet.
The Drag Hunt is organized in the period which goes from october to may.
The Horse-riding circle was the first in Italy to be approved by the notorious British Horse Society, in 1999.

Essen & Trinken

The restaurant La Posta de’ Cavalieri proposes a healthy and genuine cookery of the territory, exalting the farm-products.


…Food is culture, and culture is history. The Restaurant organizes on request, for small groups, events such as Pasta Party, Wine Tasting, Visit to the Dairy. It will be a Voyage of Discovery.

- Pasta Party is a live show regarding the history of pasta. Signora Assunta, our Pasta Maker, will show you how to do it, with its ingredients, shapes and colours ; soon after a Gourmet Dinner will be served, with three kinds of pasta.
- Wine & Cheese Tasting is an historical roundup about the origin of wine in Etruria ( Ancient Tuscany ). This region was the meeting point of the vine cultivation among the ancient Greeks, native Etruscans and the Romans. A taste of these wines will follow.

- Visit to the Dairy and the goats breeding refers to one of the former works of man. Farming and
cheese making, in the Roman countryside, is still a widespread tradition.

The Country Relais I Due Laghi is located in the area called the Tuscia, in the northen part of Latium betwen Viterbo and Rome.

This area was first the heart of the Etruscan culture, then the heart of the Roman one and in the middle Age was the "country House" of the of the Papal Kingdom.

For this reason this area is so rich of monuments and historical sites as the Etruscan catacombs in Cerveteri ( 25 km from Anguillara), the terms of Stigliano ( 20 km) the Eternal city of Rome (35 km) the Odescalchi Castel ( Castello di Bracciano 15 km, - Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes wedding-)

HOW TO GET TO ‘COUNTRY RELAIS I DUE LAGHI’ **** ( I DUE LAGHI ESTATE )
It is located in Anguillara Sabazia, North West of Rome, 39 km (24.2 mi) far.
GPS navigation system : latitude 42° 6’ 5’’ Nord ; longitude 12° 17’ 18’’ East.

FROM LEONARDO DA VINCI / FIUMICINO AIRPORT (ROME), drive on the highway to
Rome, after 7 km (4 mi) get into A12 to Civitavecchia, exit to Torre in Pietra after the tollgate. Go on Via Aurelia towards Civitavecchia for almost 900 mt (984 yd). After traffic lights, at the forkturn turn right to Bracciano. After nearly 18 km (11 mi) you cross Via Claudia Braccianese (Roma/ Bracciano), turn left to Bracciano, 600 mt (650 yd) first to the right to Anguillara, continue for 5 km (3.1 mi) and take the road signposted ‘lago’ (lake) on the left ; from the lakeside take the right and go on for 600 mt (656 yd). After the short upward slope take left to Trevignano and after about 1000 mt (1090 yd) take the road on the right, Via della Marmotta, signposted ‘I Due Laghi’. After 800 mt.(866 yd) you will reach the Country Relais. In all 49 km.

FROM CIAMPINO AIRPORT ( ROME ), drive along Via Appia to Rome, get into the Grande Raccordo Anulare ( G.R.A. ) and go to North, as if you should go to get A1 motorway to Florence.
But you will get exit n° 5 ( Cassia Bis Vejentana to Viterbo ) and will drive until the exit at km. 35,00; you will see and follow the road signs to Anguillara; after 11 km. you will see our Hotel sign, turn left and after 800 mt. you will find the entrance of the Country Relais. In all 75 km.

FROM ROME, drive along the Via Cassia Bis Vejentana (exit n° 5 from G.R.A.)as far as the exit at km 35 to Trevignano, Anguillara, Mazzano, Calcata (that is the exit following Vallelunga) and go on to Anguillara (Via Settevene). * After 6.5 km (4.03 mi) at the crossroad with the road surrounding the lake turn left to Anguillara. After the Trevignano/Anguillara crossroad continue for almost 5 km (3.1 mi). At 700 mt. (766 yd) before the village of Anguillara take the road Via della Marmotta signposted ‘I Due Laghi’ on the left. After 800 mt. (877 yd) you will reach the Country Relais.

FROM A1 HIGHWAY (when driving from Florence), after the exit toll to Magliano Sabina go on
to Civita Castellana and Nepi. Keep on this road and take Via Cassia ‘Roma/Viterbo’, in direction
of Rome; after about 6 km turn right to Trevignano/Anguillara (Via Settevene). From here go on with FROM ROME section * . In all 49 km (30.4 mi).

FROM GENOA, PISA, CIVITAVECCHIA SEAPORT, drive along A12 highway ; exit at Cerveteri tollgate ; drive along Via Cerveterana to Lake Bracciano and along the lakeside ( the lake on your left ) to the town of Anguillara ; at the main cross-road turn left to Trevignano ; driving along the lakeside, after 800 mt. (877 yd), you’ll take on your right the road Via della Marmotta signposted ‘I Due Laghi’; after 800 mt. you will reach the entrance of the Estate.

If you will come by train let us know in advance, because the train station is 7 km far away from the hotel and there isn't any shuttle service from the Anguillara train station to the hotel. For this reason is important to inform us in advance.
