Founded in 1836, the hotel was enlarged and restructured many times throughout the 19th century, the halls of the hotel were richly decorated with Art Nouveau stuccoes and frescos and the front of the hotel was decorated in a Venetian style. After a period in which the hotel was closed for nearly 30 years, a restoration and conservation project was begun to restore the hotel to its former splendour. The hotel now offers elegant, luxurious accommodation with modern comforts harmoniously integrated into the striking original building and sitting alongside superb original features.
With its historic beauty, breathtaking setting and excellent spa facilities, the hotel offers 19th century luxury and elegance with modern comforts and facilities.

- From the central south, on the east bypass, take the link road from Torino to Malpensa.
- Take the exit for Sesto San Giovanni.

- From the north-west, use the northern bypass in the direction of Venezia.
- Take the exit for Sesto San Giovanni.
- Then continue in the direction of Lecco on Lake Como - Sondrio.
By Car (from Brescia):
The journey time from Brescia to the hotel is approximately 2 and a half hours.
- From the north-east, on the Venezia - Milano motorway take the exit at Brescia Ovest (Brescia west).
- Take the bypass until Iseo, then the Valcamonica until Edolo.
- From here pass through Aprica reaching Valtellina, then towards Bormio.
