This 3-star hotel has a great location in the heart of one of Sicily’s most famous ancient towns, Ragusa Ibla, which is filled with wonderful examples of Baroque architecture.
Just a few steps from St. George's Cathedral, the hotel is in the very centre of the city, in a renovated building, which originally dates back to the end of the 19th century. The hotel’s own on-site restaurant offers a fusion of old and new, with modern, innovative twists on authentic local specialities from the region and new, original approaches to authentic Italian classics. Tradition meets innovation as Ravioli di Ricotta alla Ragusana meets Cavati Broccoli e Salsiccia. Maccheroncini with fresh mushrooms are served with cavati and artichokes; or you can enjoy tagliatelle with walnuts; pasta with sardines and Tortiglioni alla Siciliana.
Main courses are equally impressive. There is succulent braised pork, stuffed chops, Sicilian beefsteak and traditional local Ragusan sausage. All of these consort with the magnificent Baroque speciality of a generous helping of mixed roast meats accompanied by herbs and grilled local vegetables.
To complete the meal, the delicious desserts on offer include Cannoli di Ricotta flavoured with Marsala wine, mousses, Cassata Siciliana, lemon sorbet and Crema di Ricotta, the latter made with fresh milk from Sicily’s flourishing dairy industry.
