La Genzianella Surrounded by the beautiful Italian Alps, Hotel La Genzianella is a family run deluxe hotel near the ski slopes and the historic centre of Bormio.

The town offers much more than its 220 km of ski slopes which include the longest track of the Alps. Bormio also means thermal spas, museums and mountain bike trails. It also provides close proximity to other attractions such as duty free shopping in Livigno and the enchanting Stelvio National Park.

Area information

Bormio, a village with 4100 inhabitants, is an Alpine village with a rich history, monument, museums and cultural events. The suggestive atmosphere invite the people to meet up for a relaxing afternoon in the boutiques and in the bars of the centre. The relax is also assured. From the termal water spring , discovered more than 2000 years ago from the Romans, flows water from 35 to 43 degrees. The National Park will let you discover the real feeling of the Alp both with your Mountain Bike or simply walking.

Via Milan:
Follow the indication for Lecco.
Take the road SS 36 Milano-Lecco-Colico, and then from Colico the SS 38 in the direction of Morbegno-Sondrio-Tirano up to Bormio. Once you get in Bormio follow indications to cableway zone (Funivia),
Via Funivia, Hotel la Genzianella.

From the North

Coming from Zernez, in the Swiss Engadin, go through the Tunnel Passo del Gallo (Galleria della Drossa).

Every day 8 trains leave from Milan Main Station to reach Tirano (the closest train station).
The travel lasts more or less 2 hours and a half. Right in front of the train station you can catch a bus for Bormio.
There is usually one after every train.
The total amount from Milan to Bormio is of 13,00€ per person.
