"Villa La Borghetta" was originally a watchtower built at the end of the fourteenth century by the Lords of Figline the Conti Franzese della Foresta family. The ruins of the tower are still visible within the structure. It changed hands several times until it became the residence of a branch of the Piccolomini family during the Renaissance period. There is actually a fresco reproducing their coat of arms with the family “moons” above the main entrance. Towards the end of the nineteenth century the Villa was restored and took its present aspect by the liberty-neoclassic style frecoes which characterize it so strongly. After a long period of negligence, the Villa has been elegantly and carefully restored with the aim of giving its guests a taste of the best of Tuscany.

Ristorante “La Borghetta”, with separate entrances, offers three ambiences to suit the different desires: an ample hall furnished in a liberty style with an endless panoramic view through the wide glass door ( floors are in marble while the ceiling have being finely hand painted ); a contemporary and laid back dining area which was inspired from the once wine cellar of the Villa (this area show the beautiful contrast between wooden floor and modern furnishing); a covered terrace offering a breathtaking view of the marvellous sights of Valdarno Fiorentino.

By Car: From Florence. Take the highway A1 to Rome. Exit at Incisa and follow the direction to Figline Valdarno. Turn to the right and follow the direction to Gaville and then to the hotel. From Rome. Take the highway to Firenze. Exit at Incisa and follow the indications for Figline Valdarno, turn to the right and follow indications for Gaville and then for the hotel.
By Train: Figline Valdarno Station (Railway Firenze - Roma).
